Make Ahead Pie Dough

 

A french grandmother of a friend shared this easy make ahead pie dough recipe recently. It is perfect to make ahead for the holidays, or just to keep on hand for easy pie, tart, and quiche making!  Happy Baking!

Ingredients:

2 ½ cups all purpose flour

16 tablespoons cold butter cut into cubes

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup plus 2 tbs ice cold water

Instructions:

Add flour, sugar, salt, and butter ( make sure the cubes are not stuck together) into your food processor and pulse 10 times at 1 second intervals

Then add the water distributed well over the flour mixture, and pulse again 10 times. Divide the crumbly dough evenly onto the center of 2 cotton or linen dish towels, twist the towels one at a time and work the dough pressing into a round then lightly flattened ball. Remove from the towel, wrap in wax paper, place into a labeled plastic bag , and freeze for up to 3 months.
