Une Soupière in french is a tureen that is used to serve soup, stews, and even vegetables or salad. Every french household has one, and it usually is displayed in a prominent place in the home. Many times as a table centerpiece with the lid on, and can be used as a vase for flowers too. I love mine and use it all the time. I make big salads and serve from the table into individual bowls. This particular one is magnificent! I really want to keep it for myself, as it is a rare find for the grand size, excellent condition, details, and color.
